Decision time

I have made the decision to use the mound precinct area, which is located in between the Royal Scottish academy and Princess Street Gardens. I made my decision based on it being at least 15 minutes away from my home and it is also en-route to my work place, So I will be able to visit it at different times and days easily.

I know from my years of living in Edinburgh that it is a popular space during the festival and at Christmas time. It has also been used for the final scene in the 2013 movie ‘Sunshine on Leith’.

So it will be interesting for me to see how it is used in between these peak periods.

For my course work I must picked a public area within Edinburgh where I will observe the space, the people who use it, how it is used on different days and times and what is not used.

For my area I plan to use either Saughton Park which has a large playing field, a park for younger children and a skate park or the Edinburgh princess street gardens and precinct area. I will be visiting these two places tomorrow and will make my decision then.
